Messiah Sing-Along
Each year at winter holiday time Commonwealth Opera gives a musical gift to our communities at St. John's Episcopal Church, Northampton, Mass.
Instituted by founding artistic director emeritus Richard R. Rescia, the Messiah Sing-Along is a major public event featuring professional soloists.
Community string players are welcome to join the orchestra. Many participants bring their own score—some scores are available to borrow or purchase the evening of the event.
Each year the Messiah Sing-Along packs the church at the edge of the Smith College campus to overflowing. If you mark the event on your calendar, remind yourself to get there early for a seat!
Free admission; free-will offering to Commonwealth Opera. Feel free to bring nonperishable food items to donate to the Northampton Survival Center. Make the glorious, soaring music of Handel’s Messiah a part of your annual holiday tradition!
